English Schoolチーム
Cian
My name is Cian and I am from the great village of Dunhill in Waterford, Ireland.
When God commanded “Let there be light”, English School appeared.
My learning and teaching philosophies are based on the concept that all knowledge is innate and learning is a process of understanding the concepts to greater and greater levels. A teacher can only show a learner the path to what they already know.
I practice martial arts and love the great outdoors, music and the odd sesh.. I am grateful to my family, my friends and my enemies. Love and light!
Gray
I’m Graham Cope from Manchester, England. I’ve worked for English School since 2007.
I teach English for communication, focusing on English which is current and valid. When I’m teaching, I focus on my student’s individual needs as well as their interests. Additionally, I strive to make the lessons relaxed and enjoyable.
I enjoy reading, blogging, music, movies, jujitsu, chocolate and good tea.
David Baldy Furuta
Je m’appelle David, je suis Francais. I am a polyglot and I can speak French, English, Spanish, Korean and Japanese. I started working with English School in 2014.
My Teaching Philosophy. English for a purpose.
Whatever your aim is, I will adapt to your needs and offer you an understanding and a use of the language that will allow you to communicate with the world and expand you opportunities.
My goal is to communicate and share what I have experienced in my life around the world with the help of the English language. Also, I would like to discover together new cultures and in doing so, really wish to broaden our insights of the world.
My hobbies are running, cooking, hiking, snorkeling, camping, snowshoeing and most of all travelling.
Here to now I have lived 2 years in French Guyana, 1 year in Reunion Island, 10 years in Canada and been living in Japan for 7 years.
Lewis
I have been working at English School since November 2020. I have worked at both elementary and junior high schools. As an ALT, I try to encourage students to enjoy learning English through communication activities and games, rather than just textbooks. I believe this is valuable as it allows students to see English as a communication tool, not just a school subject.
In my free time, I enjoy travelling around Japan and overseas. I also like outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling.
Wesley
I’m Wesley from Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
When it comes to teaching, I believe the best way to learn is with a smile. The classroom should be a comfortable environment where students aren’t afraid to make mistakes. Together, we can work on their strengths and weaknesses.
Besides teaching, I am interested in a lot of other things. I like playing video games and watching anime. One Piece is my favorite! Furthermore, I like traveling and meeting new people.
Let’s have fun learning English!
Hugh
I’m Hugh. I moved to Japan from Wales nearly seven years ago and joined English school in spring of 2023.
I believe that languages are best learned when students are aware of and excited by the opportunities that speaking one can offer.
I strive to cultivate and nurture this positivive and curiousity filled approach to English in my lessons, and hope to leave my students with a skill that will enrich their lives.
I have a number interests including music, art, motorcycles, nature, history, languages.. and too many others to list!
Elliot
Alright, me babber! My name is Elliott, and I’m from Bristol, England, UK. I have been living in Japan for around three years. Initially, I lived in Gunma Prefecture, but I was drawn to Tottori for its beautiful countryside and seaside.
I love traveling and learning about other cultures. Having English as my mother tongue has allowed me to communicate with people from around the world, which is why I believe English is such an important language to learn. I hope that my students can not only learn English but also learn about the world and perhaps even a bit more about themselves.
I am very interested in history too. Whenever I get the chance to explore a new area, I am always drawn to the oldest artifacts I can find. I enjoy studying Japanese history, and my favorite historical period is the Bakumatsu period. I find comparing different cultures in different historical periods fascinating. Learning Japanese has helped me deepen my understanding and love of Japan.
“To learn a language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.”
